Sete Lagoas (Seven Lakes) is the name given to a group of seven lagoons nestled within the caldera of one of the original volcanoes of Flores. Lagoa Negra (Black Lake), named for the colour of its waters, Lagoa Branca (White Lake), Lagoa Comprida (Long Lake), Lagoa Rasa (Shallow Lake), Lagoa da Lomba (Crest Lake), Lagoa Funda (Deep Lake), and Lagoa Seca (Dry Lake) are the names of the lagoons that grace the volcano.
